That is the question!
In this post TJ Houzmanzada and Chris Henry era, where the reality of the queen city (for out-of-towners, that's a nickname for our beloved Cincinnati) having seen more wide receivers come and go quicker than cold beers at a Super bowl party, the uncertainty yet exhilaration that Terrel Owens brings to the Bengals 2010 season is truly an exciting and scary NFL saga to say the least.
And with there being plenty of naysayers in our midst, it's easy to get caught up in the "reality television-esque" drama of it all and simply tell ourselves that a drama-king player such as T.O. will bring more harm than good. Besides, isn't it common knowledge that this player's memorable stunts, consistently giving the proverbial middle finger to the NFL establishment, a risk too big to take for such "good guy" loving city such as Cincinnati? Hmmmm. what say you fans?
Yays? Nays?
Shrugs of indifference??
I personally feel this is EXACTLY the type of fodder and excitement this quaint little town on the river needs. Especially while our country is in the midst of a recession whereby pained locals gravitate towards a little self indulgence every now and then, it seems the drive, determination, skills, star power and yes, a little ARROGANCE, from a high quality player such as T.O. could possibly be the likely progenitor of an "NFL renaissance" of sorts, long overdue in a city who not too long ago, was the butt of all jokes sportswise.
But in the end, it looks as though the "joke" will be on the nonbelievers as this very driven 36 year old, aptly known by his infamous initials, helps his other teammates "KICK butt" all the way to the 2011 playoffs.
